Veronica Yates is Back on Her Feet!
Eight years following surgery complications, Veronica Yates shares how she starting feeling the good inside after just four months on Touchstone Essentials products!
Eight years ago, in 2004, a post-operative complication left me with severe peroneal nerve damage. The peroneal nerve is a branch of the sciatic nerve that wraps around the fibular head (“funny bone”) near the knee and then innervates muscles that lift the foot and toes.
Damage to this nerve can result in foot drop, numbness, and pain which is what happened to me. And it required wearing a custom-made brace and using a cane for the next four years.
During that time, my mobility did not improve enough to allow me to return to normal daily activities. While there was some improvement, peroneal nerve injuries often recover poorly for reasons that remain uncertain.
When I met with my neurologist for muscle and balance testing, in February of 2012, it appeared that my condition was about as good as it would get. The next month I began taking Pure Body, Essentials, and Supergreens + D.
Four months later, in mid-June, I realized that I was feeling less pain and burning, and new sensations in my foot and calf muscles, all of which improved my mobility, range of motion, and my sleep.
Also, if I have to get up in the middle of the night, I no longer have to slide into a shoe to get safely to the bathroom. While this may seem like a small thing to those who go barefoot at will, it’s huge for me and I’m grateful.
I’m now replacing the notion of “as good as it would get” with “the good inside and getting better.” —Veronica Yates
